Psst! Here’s a little secret to a successful sale – your kitchen is the selling point.
You’ve heard the old adage that the kitchen is the heart of the home, and it’s true. Especially in a time when big islands and open floor plans reign supreme, the kitchen is the focal point.
Sure, buyers love to see updated bathrooms and fresh paint and hardwood floors, but in my years of experience, the most “oohs” and “aahs” are centered around the kitchen space. So if you have to choose one area to direct your listing prep budget, the kitchen is it.
If your budget isn’t big, even small changes like updating cabinet hardware, replacing the sink and faucet, installing a backsplash, or getting new light fixtures can make a difference. You can also paint cabinets instead of replacing them.
