According to the NAR, 37% of contracts fall through because of repair issues. If you’re thinking of selling this spring, here’s how to avoid that:⁣
▪️Meet with an agent who knows your neighborhood and zip code. Allowing them to do a quick walkthrough could save you time and money.⁣
▪️If recommended, schedule a pre-sale inspection. Then you’ll know the full scope what needs to be addressed from a functional standpoint.⁣
▪️Invest in repairing major systems first. Think HVAC, plumbing, roofing, foundation, or electrical issues.⁣
▪️Once your home’s major systems check out, move to aesthetics. If a home has odors or looks worn down and dingy, a buyer is going to be wary of what else needs repair.
Each of my listing consultations involves a thorough walkthrough where I assess what does – and doesn’t – need to be done to get your home ready to sell. Email palmer@palmerharned.com for your customized consultation.
